VPS Hosting in Bosnia — root access from the first minute
VPS servers for developers and businesses in Bosnia and Herzegovina. KVM virtualization, dedicated IPv4+IPv6, fast NVMe drives and snapshot backups — your virtual machine, your rules.
VPS hosting that understands the Bosnian market
Every developer knows the frustration of shared hosting once an application outgrows what the provider allows. Custom Node.js microservices without pm2 support, a Python Django project that needs a system-level WSGI setup, a Go binary that needs a systemd service, a Docker container that can't run, kernel parameters you can't touch, SSH keys without sudo. A VPS is the answer: a clean Linux machine with full root access — you choose the OS, you install the stack, you administer it, with no provider restrictions and no sharing of resources with other clients.
macido VPS is designed exactly for that. KVM virtualization with hardware-level isolation (not Docker containers or openVZ), a modern nginx + Apache stack available as a preconfigured image (or a clean OS if you want to do everything yourself), NVMe drives with very high I/O throughput, a 1 Gbps uplink with unlimited traffic, dedicated IPv4 and IPv6, Layer 3/4 DDoS protection at the network level, and a snapshot system for safe changes. Prices in KM with VAT included, support in your language. Just as important: no overselling — your CPU cores and RAM are dedicated, not shared through a CPU-credit system that slows you down when traffic arrives. What you bought is what you get, all the time.
A solo developer with a custom application stack or a SaaS starter picks the smallest VPS — enough for a single-instance deploy and full root access for experiments. A small agency or team with a dev/staging environment mirroring production picks a mid-size VPS — the snapshot system enables a quick reset to a known state. Game servers, video encoding, CI/CD build runners or a Docker setup with multiple services pick a large VPS with the 10 Gbps add-on. When you want someone else to run the infrastructure, look at Cloud (fully managed + auto-scaling). Upgrades between VPS plans are vertical — no downtime for CPU/RAM, a few minutes for disk.

Which VPS plan for which project?
A quick guide — find your profile and go straight to the configurator.
Typical user: a freelance developer with a side project, a SaaS MVP serving its first 10-100 users, an early-stage Node.js/Python/Go application, a hobby project with a custom stack. Enough RAM and CPU for a single-instance deploy, an NVMe disk for fast builds, full root for experiments. If the project grows, a vertical upgrade takes minutes.
Typical user: an agency with dev and staging environments mirroring production bit for bit, a SaaS in production with 100-500 active users, a CI/CD build runner for GitHub Actions/GitLab CI, a Docker Compose setup with 5-10 services (API + web + database + Redis + queue workers). The snapshot system enables a fast staging reset to a known state before every test cycle.
Typical user: a Minecraft/CS/Rust game server with 50-200 slots, a video encoding pipeline (ffmpeg batch), a k3s or single-node k8s cluster with 10-20 containers, self-hosted analytics (Matomo, Plausible, PostHog), self-hosted GitLab/Gitea with CI runners. Larger CPU and RAM allocation for parallel workloads, an optional 10 Gbps uplink for network-heavy applications.
If your application needs auto-scaling (traffic spikes without manual intervention) or a fully managed service where our team administers the OS, look at Cloud hosting. For projects that require dedicated hardware without a virtualization layer (compliance, extreme I/O, bare-metal performance), contact us. A multi-VPS setup with a private network is available as a middle step.
Switching from a foreign VPS provider?
VPS migration to macido is free, and we do it together with you. The migration plan follows your current configuration: a snapshot of the old VPS, rsync or a block-level copy to the new one, verification of the web server configuration, database, cron jobs, SSL certificates, SSH keys and firewall rules. The DNS switch happens in a low-traffic window with the TTL lowered in advance. For applications with active users (SaaS in production, a game server with live players) we coordinate a maintenance window. If you need help adapting custom scripts to the new OS or changing software versions, that is part of the free migration too.
